| Katarina was born in Russia where in 1980 she completed her studies at the Technical University of Penza. Later she went on to work as a designer in a studio. After moving to Hungary in 1998 Katarina continued to create pictures with architectual elements using non traditional materials such as rusty metal, old fabric, porcelain, wood. Mixed techniques of Katarina's works are collage and assemblage. "Construction" of pictures and objects is based on confrontation of images not connected with each other, on clash of coarse and fragile. Her creations reflect real events, nostalgia and theatrical side of our life, the every-day reality appears in a new light. |
