| I began building the model house as a school project, but it quickly became a hobby. It has taken me over a year and a half to complete (more time than it took to build the actual home itself). Here's what it's made out of: Base: 1/4" foam poster board Foundation: 1/2" x 1/2" Basswood Floors: 1/4" foam poster board Walls + Roof Trusses: 1/4" x 1/8" basswood Windows: Overhead projector transparencies w/ car pinstriping Siding: 1/2" x 1/32" basswood Wall and roof sheathing: generic posterboard Interior railing: toothpicks Roofing material: 150 grit Norton sandpaper |
