Character Animator QUALIFICATION SUMMARY Character Animator with 5 years Industry Experience with Electronic Arts Assigned to AAA titles including the best selling Harry Potter Franchise A strong understanding of both the technical requirements for Character Animation in Games, and a sensitivity for the classical artistic skills required to make characters believable Graduate of Sheridan College in Canada PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 2003-2004 Worked on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for PS2, X-box and Game Cube. I was responsible for Animating Creatures, and Several cutscenes. Given the responsibility of organising a team to create all the functional cutscenes in game working with the Character core team to develop a proprietary cutscene tool. Software used: Maya 4.5 2002-2003 Worked on Harry Potter Quiddich World Cup for PS2, X-box, and Game Cube. I created in game animation for the magical extreme sport of broom flying. Designed and animated several signature move cutscenes for the house teams, and the International team, including animation on all the characters, and layout of all the cameras. Software used: Maya 3.0 2000-2002 Worked on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for PS2, X-box, and Game Cube. I created animation for the Ron, and Hermione, Fred and George Weasley, and seveal creatures. Worked with head Navigation programmer Michael Carr to pioneer an animation driven navigation system used on subsequent Harry Potter games, that allowed the characters to move realistically with a minimum amount of foot slide. Worked on several of the key cutscenes, Including the scenes where the Phoenix saves Harry Potter from a giant Snake. Worked with Concept Department helping to design animation styles for the main cast. Software used : Maya 2.0 2000 Worked with Motion capture, to create the first ever full pit crew in a video game in F1 2000. Worked to edit the capture footage in Maya, and worked with the game team to get the correct registration of character to car. Animation Data on F1 2000 was used in subsequent versions of F1 without any significant editing. Developed a rig for animating over the motion capture that allowed me to keep the natural movement of the motion capture, but edit the placement of body parts so that there would be no intersections between other characters or the car. Software used: Maya 1.5 1999-2000 Worked on the Football animation engine used in Premiere League Stars 2 and Premiere League Manager 2000. I worked with Motion Capture footage used on Fifa to create new signature animations for the Premier League. Used an in house cutscene tool to create new Premier Specific goal celebration cutscenes. Software used: Softimage 3.8 1998 Worked at Funbag Animation in Ottawa, Canada, on Ed, Edd, and Eddy, a syndicated 2D animated series for the Cartoon Network. Worked on Storyboard clean-up for a special called Something from Nothing. Animation Clean-up on Shniz and Fondu, a show contracted from Nelvana.
