Conspiracy - The Advertiser August 2, 2002
The story: A group of Nazi officials attend a meeting that will change world history.

The wash-up: It's January, 1942, and the first cracks are starting to appear in the Nazi war juggernaut. In the opulent Berlin suburb of Wannsee, 15 high-ranking Nazi officials meet to plan the "final solution to the Jewish question". This matter-of-fact, made-for-TV movie from the usually reliable folks at HBO, is riveting viewing (if that's the right word to use for such challenging material). Concise, detailed and full of understated performances from some of Britain's best-known character actors, there's star power too, provided by Kenneth Branagh and Colin Firth, working well with such uncharacteristic roles. All the brutal background on the motivations of the main players is provided, along with some all-too-revealing human touches. Still hard to believe such a meeting took place a little more than half a century ago.

The final word: Chilling.
