| I frowned and sighed. Sorry, short stuff. They got held up. They told me to tell you Happy Birthday, and they send their love. I could tell Angie was disappointed. You ok, sis? Yeah, Ill be ok. Thank you, Frankie. For being here I mean. Anytime, short stuff. Anything for the best sister anyone could ask for. That got Angie smiling again. Oh yeah, before I forget. Something came for you. I went into the hallway and turned on the light. Angie and her teacher were right behind me. When I turned on the living room and dining room light everyone yelled, Surprise! A smile lit up on Angies face. All her friends and out neighbors were there. The party was starting off great so I decided to go ahead and start the grill. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food, and Angie seemed to enjoy her presents. After the party was over everyone went home and Angie went to bed. I cleaned up after the party and took a shower. Since there was nothing else to do I turned on the TV. I looked at my watch. Just in time for Americas Most Wanted. They were showing a picture of a man who killed a little girl and her babysitter. It started to freak me out so I turned off the TV and went to bed. A week later my parents still havent come home from their trip. I dressed Angie in her best clothes and sent her to her friends house for a party. Midnight came and gone. Angie still wasnt home. I started to get really worried. I walked to her friends house looking for her. They said Angie left for home over four hours before. I ran home and called the cops. Twenty minutes later, two police officers pulled into the driveway. They walked up to the front door and knocked. I quickly opened the door. They started asking me a lot of questions. I didnt have any answers for them. I gave them the address of the house Angie was supposed to be at. Two days passed and my parents were nowhere to be found. The guy that had Angie finally called asking for money. I told him I could have it for him that day. I got the money out of my college fund and went to meet the kidnapper. When I saw his face my eyes lit up. It was the same guy that I saw on Americas Most Wanted the other day. Heres the money. Now wheres my sister? I looked at the guy in fear of what he did to her. At last I saw her. Give me the money, and Ill let her go. If not, Ill kill her. I didnt want Angie to get hurt, so I gave him the money. The man kept his word and let her go, but as she was walking towards me he shot her and ran. I should have ran after him, but the only thing I could think of doing was to hold my dying sister. As she laid in my arms, she told me how sorry she was for being a terrible daughter and wished she could see our parents right then and there. She also told me she loved me. All I could do was cry. I didnt know what to say to her. She died in my arms that night. I remember crying for hours afterwards. I blamed myself then, and I blame myself now. My parents blame me as well. Theyll never let me live it down; Ill never let myself live it down. She was my only sister and I let her die. They never even caught her killer. I remember how talented Angie was and how much love she had for everyone. I know Ill never forget her for as long I live. The End |
