Notes

3122. William C. , CSA Coleman

William served in Co. E. 30th VA Inf. Regiment.

3129. Thomas Taylor Daniel Coleman

Thomas left all his property to his wife, and did not mention
any children.

1532. Lucy W. Coleman

Lucy was given control of her brother JamesÕ children after he
died, and put in charge of their education. In 1860 she lived
in Amherst County with her father, John Coleman, her uncle
Robert L. Coleman, and the two children of her deceased brother
James: Bettie F. and John R.

Thomas Penn Fitzpatrick Judge

Mildred was the second wife of Judge Thomas Penn Fitzpatrick.

1549. Mary Lucretia Scott

According to Colemanac.

According to Colemans of Mobjack Bay VA

Coming from an affluent background, as a General's daughters,
she may have been ill-prepared for life with Elisha. There is
plenty of evidence to support the stormy nature of their
relationship over the years. She apparently took little without
giving some back.

Elisha Coleman Rev.

Elisha was a man of many talents - man of the cloth, farmer,
carpenter, and craftsman. His first wife died in 1828 after
bearing ten children. At any time, being left with ten children
is a tremendous burden - in those early frontier days it was a
terrible crisis. Farming left no time for baby-sitting, even if
older children are around to help. In 1829, me married Mary
Lucretia, who had at least three children by her first marriage.
There relationship appears to have been a stormy one. Elisha
repeatedly puts notices in newspapers that he will no longer
honor any debts incurred by her as she has left his bed and
board, but then they get back together, and in at least one
case, have another child. Mary Lucretia appears to have been
quite outspoken, not quite the norm of the time.

3146. Thomas James Scott

Thomas was killed in the War Between the States and buried in
Virginia.

1555. James Edward Scott Rev.

I have a James E Scott born 1808 SC. found him on the 1850
Choctaw AL census, with his wife Mary A (b 1811)and children:

Thomas 1832 SC;

John 1834 SC;

James E 1837 AL;

William H 1838 AL (mine); moved to LA;

Eliza S 1840 AL;

David M or Daniel M 1841 AL;

Sarah E 1844;

Henry B 1846;

Frances L 1849 AL

On the census it list James as a minister.

Does this fit in with any of your Scotts or anyones Thank you

Kathy
