Before he died, he asked his good friend James Browning to marry
his wife and take care of her and his children.

In SallyÕs will, dated 21 Aug 1803 and proved 16 Jan 1804, she
make provisions for two children, Òtwo only children, Judy
Coleman and Benjamin Coleman, when they are of age.Ó Sally also
mentioned her brother Spilsby in her will. It is unknown if
Sally married a Coleman cousin, or had two children out of
wedlock.

Clement was a Captain in the American Revolution. Elizabeth and
Clement moved to Nashville in 1806, then to Shelby County,
Tennessee in 1820.

Thompson served in the American Revolution from Georgia.

Sarah was a widow when Thompson married her, of a man named
ÒWestÓ.


956. Daniel Coleman Colonel

Erysipelas

From DanielÕs obituary: ÒAt 12 years of age, he was employed as
an express by military commandment of Halifax (Old Town) to
convey orders from LaFayette ordering troops to the rendezvous
to aid General Green, etc.Ó Daniel served in the House of
Delegates of the Virgina Assembly 1803-1812. He was a Captian
of Militia in 1794, later Major and Colonel of 42nd Regiment
during the War of 1812. He was commissioned Justice of the
Peace in Sep 1799. from Cumberland County Virginia and Its
People, 1983, The Cumberland Historical Society.
