ROBERT COLEMAN WAS A SOLDIER IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR. HE WAS
GRANTED 6OO ACRES OF LAND ON BOTH SIDES OF MILL CREEK JUST OFF
THE PACOLET RIVER ON JAN. 1, 1766. THIS LAND WAS SURVEYED BY
ZACHARIAH BULLOCK. ROBERT WAS HEIR TO MUCH OF CHRISTOPHER'S
Robert and Caroline were living in Orange County, Virginia in
1794 on a 340 acres tract of land owned by his father. This
land was later held in trust for their two daughters.
CarolineÕs parents, Thomas and Millicent Coleman, left
CarolineÕs inheritance to her children, bypassing Robert and
Caroline.
Charles moved his family to Huntsville, Alabama, where he ran a
dry goods store.
