Obituary

Gilbert E. Wortham, age 90, of Irvington, died Monday, August 4,
1997 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. Born August 1,
1907, son of the late George H. Wortham and Nancy Blissett, he
held several positions through his life, including a position
with Henry Vogt, in Louisville, ran a trucking business in
Breckinridge County, was a farmer, and worked with Southern
States in Irvington. He was a member of Irvington United
Methodist Church.

Mr. Wortham is survived by three daughters, LaVaughn Dowell,
Webster, Freda McCamish, Irvington, Joyce Smith, Webster;
sister, Stella Board, Irvington; eight grandchildren and 16
great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, August 7 at 1 p.m. EDT at the
Irvington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Robinson
officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery with the
Alexander Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons.

Visitation begins at 1 p.m. EDT, Wednesday, August 6.
