Edward King Hardin, Jr., died of Spanish Flu during the 1918
Pandemic. Buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, SC. Birth
date taken by Kate Glenn Hardin from Hardin Family Bible held by
Louise Smith in Clover, SC. A later bible lists his birth as
June 28, 1884.
Born at 1638 Irving St. N.W., Washington, DC. Died in hospital
at Charlotte, NC, from a sudden aneurism. She had just finished
having lunch at her favorite restaurant Watson's in downtown
Rock Hill with her sister-in-law Catherine Murphy Hardin when
she complained of a pain in her chest. She died early the next
morning. Her final home was 911 Hillcroft Place, Rock Hill, SC.
Buried in Rock Hill. Previous address was 414 W. Oakland Ave.,
Rock Hill, SC.
Joined Catawba chapter of D.A.R. on June 8, 1949, National
Number 386265, by means of her descent from Pvt. Joseph Black.
Resigned membership in 1965.
