1) What is the most significant event in history that has affected you and your family? |

|
The civil war in China has affected me and my family. My grandfather & grand mother are from China. They followed the Nationalists to Taiwan and dwelled there since Nationalists fled to Taiwan. My mother and I grew up in Taiwan since they moved to Taiwan. Most People in China who used to live in the areas that were near to Taiwan moved with Nationalists during the civil war in China. |

2)These events that have occurred now have a tendonsy to reoccur in the future. From what has happened today in the world, what do you predict will happen in the future? How can we use historical events to guide us? |
|

|
I predict that the Third World War may occur in the future. Since the 911 event has taken place, I learn that there are many terrorists who resent the U.S. They are terrible. So, I think that they may do something more horrible for us. Although the U.S. has highly defended itself, maybe someday the other nations who despised America may unify and fuel the explosion of the Third World War. The historical events are the evidences of some disasters or conflicts between countries. They foreshadow us to be aware of some terrible events that may take place in future. |

3) What have you learned most from this project and this semester about history and yourself? |

|
I think that I had learned more about other countries' history instead of just Chinese history that I had learned in Taiwan. I learned that wars are really cold. The Cold War between the two superpowers had caused a global competition since they both allied with one another. I learned more about world history in this semester or in this year. There are too many historical leaders that I can't remember all of them, but some significant leaders, such as Ghandi, Hitler, or Stalin, have impressed me. I am really glad to know more about history to increase my knowledge. Although I am not interested in history, I figured out that I had the ability to read a historical book. I had also improved my English in learning history and reading historical articles. There are lots of events that I had not learned before but I 'd learned them in this year taking world history class. However, I think I got some results in learning history. |
