The Gull War
It was a sunny hot day and I was on vacation in Boynton Beach Florida with my family. Vacation is a sacred relaxing time for me. Life can be stressful but after just a week of relaxation I feel like a new man. It was a couple days into my vacation and we decided to go to the beach. We got to the beach and it was a perfect day, big billowing clouds high in the sky and plenty of warm sunshine. I noticed that there were a lot of sea gull roaming around but I didnt really think too much of them at the time. It was my Mom, my two brothers, and myself. It was around noon sometime when I decided I was getting hungry. My mom gave me and my brothers some money to go to the snack bar. We walked to the counter and I saw grilled cheese. "Hmmm...Grilled Cheese, I love Grilled Cheese", I said. "I'll take a grilled cheese," I said with delight. They gave me the poorest excuse for a grilled cheese sandwich I've ever seen. I can remember it clear as day, it was a plain hamburger bun with a piece of orange processed cheese on it. There was no sign of butter or anything, just a toasted plain bun with a slice of orange cheese on it and I think it was $2. I was a little bit angry about the sight of this thing but nevertheless I was going to eat it and get the most enjoyment possible from it. I started to walk back with this poor excuse for a sandwich when I noticed it got cloudy. I looked up and it wasnt clouds at all... I was being circled by a gang of one hundred sea gulls. I kept walking back to the blanket. They kept right with me. "Ka, Ka, Ka," they said. "Kaaa!!!!" "Kaaa!!!". I was a little intimidated by their motives. "What the hell do these damn birds want?". It all became very clear and very real at the moment I sat down. I sat down and not even one second later I was being attacked at close range. I felt the grasp of a sea gulls talons on my head. It landed on my head. The rest circled and waited to make their own move. I launched my own series of attacks thrusting sand into thier direction but I was simply outnumbered. I had to give up or I was risking being torn to ground beef right in front of my Mother. I let the sandwich go to save my own life. This sandwich that I thought was poor quality had caused a turf war between species. To top it off my family could not stop laughing at this whole situation. And they still laugh today. The End.
