Coldheartedtruth

I have had some great fun debating on the message boards. I have
engaged in debates that have given some laughs that made my belly hurt. Other debates have annoyed me so much that after I thought about it, I had to laugh at myself for letting my emotions get in the way of having a good time. My participation is for amusement, mostly. I enjoy the ideas. I enjoy the wise cracks. I enjoy the people.

Don't get me wrong, I am interested in politics. I have more than a
passing concern about how much tax I pay, how kids are educated, protection from violence, clean air and clean water, and the availability of energy. So I listen, I read, I debate, and I vote. But, for me, the message board is a leisure activity and somewhat of a social outlet. There is almost always someone to communicate with 24 hours a day. For a busy insomniac like me, that's a blessing.

But lately, I've begun to feel bad about some of the things I've said
to other people on the boards. I would never have said some of these things to a stranger on a park bench no matter how much I disagreed with him/her. That is not the person I want to be. To those whom I have offended, I apologize, and ask your forgiveness.

I began this message with a focus on what was good. I believe that the new approach I am going to take in my participation will make it even more enriching for me. My wisecracks (I gotta have them, I'm Nyuk) will henceforth be exclusively in a good-natured spirit. The arguments I make will be more organized, and from an informed point of view. My questions will be asked in good faith. If you see me straying from these principles, please call me on it.

I look forward to the internet experience that was envisioned by it's great creator, Al Gore. Together, we can explore the answers to such questions as, is our children learning, what's the definition of "is", how to best control the caribou population, and who all is guilty in addition to Ken Lay?

It'll be interesting, and it'll be fun. Or I'm outta here.
