Adam Griffis was born July 25,1983 in the cradle of artistic enlightenment and culture that is Snellville, GA. Griffis has been playing bass for six years and utilizes a mix of slap and fingerstyle in his aggressive technique. Griffis joined Cold Fusion after his last band and local metal powerhouse, Disdain, broke up in the fall of 2000. Griffis is responsible for many of the brutal riffs that characterize Cold Fusion's sound as well as being a stage presence for the band. Griffis also brings an air of danger to the band because all the other members are uncertain of how badly and in what manner he'll hurt himself next. Among his many musical influences he lists Metallica, Pantera, Sepultura, Soulfly, Cannibal Corpse, Black Sabbath, Nile, Morbid Angel, Primus, Cryptopsy, Alice in Chains, Fear Factory, Mudvayne, Hatebreed, and Internal Bleeding. His playing style is influenced heavily by his hero and mentor Les Claypool (Primus) as well as Cliff Burton (Metallica), Alex Webster (Cannibal Corpse), and Ryko (Mudvayne). Griffis plans to attend UGA in the fall and hopes to be invloved with music the rest of his life in some way, shape, or form. Griffis plays on Ibanez, Spector, and Cort basses, Dunlop and DOD effects, and SWR amps.
