I will begin this page by telling you a little bit about me..................
My name is Sonya. I was brought up in a non-christian home. I always sensed that there was something missing in my life - but didn't quite know what it was. All my life I was searching for it, but couldn't seem to find it. I somehow knew (or believed) that their was a God. I believed that there was a heaven and a hell. I also knew that I needed something in my life.
I used to think that I was a 'good' person, after all I helped people out and went out of my way to please people. I convinced myself that since I was 'good' that a loving God would not turn me away from Heaven. But, I had this nagging doubt in my mind.................'what happens after I die' I convinced myself that when you died that was the end of it, so it consoled me for a while.
Why I ever thought I was good is beyond me!
My life was a complete mess. I had got worse. I knew something had to happen. I knew that I needed to change. I was ashamed of myself. I was crying out for help!!! My mind was like an explosion, about to blow of any minute. Oh! yes I tried to get away from it. On many occassions I had tried to end my life!! I didn't want to live like this anymore. Why oh why was I suffering??
Then..............on a Monday night on the 13th day of June in 1994, Jesus SAVED me, (halleluliah)!!!
I WAS FREE. 'He whom the Son sets free is free indeed'
I was Born-Again. Jesus said - 'except a man be born-again he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven'
