When ever I talk about The 10th Kingdom, I'm always surprised by the reaction of my male friends when I mention Rutger Hauer is in the cast. All of a sudden you can see them thinking, "hey, this show must be interesting if the android from Blade Runner is in it." The Dutch actor is best known to action-movie fans for that role but Hauer has played a vast range of characters that have also won him praise from art movie devotees as well.
