Record of Isaac's discharge from service is found in Will Book 2, page 612 at the Cabell County, West Virginia Courthouse. It was recorded on November 22, 1866 and reads as follows:

"To all whom it may Concern  Know ye that Isaac Taylor a sargeant of Captain John V Youngs Company G 11th Regiment of West Va Infantry Volunteers who was enrolled on the Twenty-Seventh day of March One thousand eight hundred and sixty-two to serve three years or during the war is hereby Discharged from the Service of the United States this fifteenth day of May 1865 at Richmond Virginia by nature of being Mustered out of the service in pursuance of Special order from the War Department Dated May 9th 1865.  No objection to his being reenlisted is known to exist. Said Isaac Taylor was born in Gallia Co in the State of Ohio is 40 year of age 5 feet 7 3/4 inches high Light complexion Black eyes Black hair and by occupation when enrolled a Farmer. Given at Richmond this 15th day of Mar 1865"  This was signed by John(?) Horton 2 Luiet(?)34 Mass Infty Vols and A C M(?) Inf Div 24th A Co  [Note: can't make out this last signature]

Written across this (and on top of the other writing) is: - Paid in full
May 24, 1865 $233 ____(illegible signatures)

At the bottom is written:  "Renders officer Cabell County West Va on Nov 22 1866 this Discharge was this day presented to me the same is ad___ to record.   (signature of)  Wm F Hayslip Dept for Recorder
