To June 30, 1862: STATION - Spencer, Roane County, Va.—RECORD OFEVENTS
- The Company was ordered April 28 from Camp McDonald, Calhoun County,
Va.to Ravenswood, Jackson County, Va., a distance of 50 miles; arrived
on the 30th; 11 men on detached service at the mouth of Big Birch, Braxton
County, Va. proceeded to Camp McDonald, Va.and reported to G. Cramer Trimble
(Major) commanding post that there was a force advancing on that post;
they then joined the force commanded by Major Trimble and marched to Birch
& back, distance 60 miles and was engaged in the action May 6, 1862
at Arnoldsburg; Ravenswood June 13th by order Lt Col Frost, Lt Lytle with
10 men marched to the head of Sandy and back, distance of 40 miles; 14
June by order of Lt Col Frost, Lt Lytle with 25 men under his command
marched to Spencer, distance of 38 miles; June 16 by order of
Col J.C. Rathbone, Lt Lytle with 25 men marched to Ravenswood, distance
38 miles; June 11 (17?) detachment sent on scout killed William Shamblin
a guerrilla; June 27 by order of Col J.C.Rathbone the entire Company
marched to Spencer as guard for train, distance 38 miles and arrived on
the 29th ?

OFEVENTS -
July 4th the Company returned from Ravenswood to Parkersburg,WVa.,
distance 40 miles;
July 8th ordered to New Creek, Wva. by Major Bukey; July 9th arrived
at New Creek, distance 204 ? miles; July 14th left New Creek, Va for Hancock,
Md.; July 16th arrived at Hancock, Md., distance 64 miles; Aug 8th changed
station from Hancock, Md. to Sir Johns Run, Va, distance 5 miles; Aug 18
changed station from Sir Johns Run, WVa.to Parkersburg, WVa., distance
276 miles; Aug 21st changed station from Parkersburg, Wva. to Ravenswood,
WVa, distance 40 miles.
Sept/Oct 1863: STATION - Ravenswood, WVa.—RECORD OF EVENTS - Sept
2nd Lt. Lytle with 40 men went to Spencer, Roane County, Wva. on scouting
purposes and returned Sept 8th with 1 prisoner; Sept 12th Sergt S.L. Barber
went on scout into Roane County, WVa.; had several skirmishes; killed 2
of the enemy and lost 2 horses killed; returned to camp on the 19th Sept;
13th Lt Lytle with 23 men went on scout, found nothing and returned on
the 14th; on 15th left camp again with 19 men and returned 16th with 2
of the enemy prisoners; names James A. Burditt ? and E.L. King; Sept 26th
Capt King left Ravenswood, Wva. went to Spencer, Wva. and took command
of that place; On 28th sent out 2 scouting parties under Sergts S.L.Barber
and D.Smith; on the same day Sergt Barber captured Solomon Carpenter a
noted guerrilla and 1 horse from the same; 29th Sergt Smith killed 2 of
the enemy; Oct 3rd Capt King returned to Ravenswood, WVa.with 2 prisoners
leaving the detachment at Spencer; Oct 6th Lt King went to Spencer
to take command of the detachment left there; Oct 14th Lt King with detachment
returned from Spencer; Oct 18th Capt King with detachment went to
Spencer to guard election; returned on the 26th; had an engagement
with the enemy on sameday; Oct 26th Lt Lytle with detachment of 20 men
left camp on scout; on 27th had a lively engagement with the enemy; casualties
none; on 28threturned to camp.
Nov/Dec 1863: STATION - Ravenswood, WVa.—RECORD OF EVENTS - Nov
1st Lt Lytle with detachment went to Spencer, WVa to take post there; Nov
15th Lt King with detachment went to Spencer WVa.on scout; captured
2 prisoners and returned Nov 29th; Nov 17 Lt Lytle with detachment went
on scout; returned 20th Nov; 18th Capt King with 18 men went on scout;
captured 3 prisoners and returned on 20th; 22nd Corpl Seathem (Leather?)and
9 men sent on scout; captured 1 prisoner; returned 25th; 26th Lt Lytle
and 18 men sent to Spencer, WVa.on scout; 27th Corpl King and 15men went
on scout; returned 29th; Dec 4th Lt King with detachment of 20 men sent
on scout; found nothing and returned on 9th Dec; 12th Lt Lytle returned
from Spencer, Wva. with detachment of Company; Dec 13th inspection of Company
by Lt Drake; Dec 27th, 15 recruits ordered to Parkersburg, Wva. to be mustered
into the United States service.
Jan/Feb 1864: STATION - Ravenswood, WVa.—RECORD OF EVENTS - Jan
16th Sergt Barber and 5 men sent to Ripley on scout; Jan 19th Sergt Barber
and men returned to camp at Ravenswood; Jan 20 Corpl Fife (Life?) and 6
men sent to Wood County on scout; Jan 21 Sergt Barber and 7 men sent onscout
to Ripley; Jan 21st Sergt King and 14 men sent on scout; Jan 26th
Sergt Barber and men returned to camp with 2 prisoners; Jan 26th Sergt
King and men returned to camp; Jan 23rd ? 2 prisoners received from Capt
Burdett, Wva. Militia; Jan 27th, 1 prisoner received from Capt Johnson
State Scouts; Jan 29th Sergt Flynn and 10 men sent on scout; Feb 25th
Lt Lytle with 12 men sent on a scout; Feb 26th Lt Lytle and men returned
to camp; no enemy found; Feb 26th Sergt King and 5 men sent on a scout;
Feb 29th Sergt King and men returned to camp; no enemy found.
Mar/Apr 1864: STATION - WVa.—RECORD OF EVENTS - I certify, on Honor
that Mathew C. Leather, John Hamilton and Thomas Westfall whose names
are borne on this roll have not been accredited as veteran volunteers...Dixon

May/Jun 1864: STATION - Camp Piatt, WVa.—RECORD OF EVENTS - May
1st,64 Company commenced march at Clifton, Wva. marching through the counties
of Fayette, Raleigh, Mercer, Bland, Taswell and Pulaski to a point on the
Tennessee & Va. R.R.; from there back through the counties of Montgomery,
Monroe & into Greenbrier arriving in camp near Lewisburg, Wva. May
22, 64; distance 261 miles; the Company was engaged (in) battle at Loyds
(Cloyds) Mountain, Pulaski County, Va. May 9 and again a portion
engaged on the 10th at Ingle ? Bridge; remained in camp near Lewisburg
until June 1st at which time the Company resumed their march; arrived at
Staunton, Va. on the 8th; encamped 2 days; June 10th left camp again; marched
to Lexington, Va.; arrived on the 11th and camped 2 days; June 14th resumed
march again; arrived at a point near Lynchburg,Va.; 17th was engaged with
the enemy; after being engaged again on the18th, returned and arrived at
Camp Piatt, WVa 29th.
July/Aug 1864: STATION - Charleston, Va.—RECORD OF EVENTS - The
Company with the Regiment under orders left Camp Piatt, Wva. on the 7thof
July, 64 and proceeded via Gallipolis, Ohio on steamboat to Parkersburg,
WVa.; from there by railroad to Martinsburg, Va.; marched from thence to
Harpers Ferry, Va, Snickersville, Va., Winchester, Va., Sandy Hook, Md.,
Wolsville, Md., Monocacy, Md. and again to Sandy Hook, Md., Leander Creek,
Va., Bolivar Heights, Va.and Charleston, Va.; distance by river & railroad
? miles, distanced marched ? miles; the Company (with the Regt)
was engaged at Snickers Ferry, Va.18th July, Winchester, Va. July 23 &
24, Martinsburg, Va. July 25, Cedar Creek, Va. August.

COMPANY MUSTER-OUT ROLL of Capt Dixon R. Kings Company “I” in the
11Regt WVa Infty Vols commanded by Col Van H. Bukey called into the service
of the United States by the President thereof at Ravenswood, WVa on the
27 day of Dec 1862 ? to serve for the term of 3 years from the date of
enrollment, unless sooner discharged, from dates herein specified (when
last paid) to the 26 day of Dec 1864 when discharged by reason of expiration
of term of service...CERTIFICATE OF MUSTERING OFFICER: I certify, on Honor,
That I have at camp near Aikens Landing,Va.on this 26 day of Dec 1864 carefully
examined this Roll, and as far as practicable, caused the allowances, stoppages,
and remarks to be justly and properly stated, and mustered the Company
for discharge; andit its hereby honorably discharged from the service of

in the 11 Regt,WVa Infty Vols commanded by Lt Col W.H.H. King called into
service of the United States by the President thereof at on the dates herein
specified, to serve for the term of 3 years from the date of enrollment,unless
sooner discharged, from dates herein specified (when last paid) to
the 17 day of June 1865 when discharged under provisional order from War
Dept dtd May 29, 1865.....CERTIFICATE OF MUSTERING OFFICER: I certify,
on Honor, That I have at Richmond, Va. on this 17 day of June 1865 carefully
examined this Roll, and as far as practicable, caused the allowances, stoppages,
and remarks to be justly and properly stated, and mustered the Company
for discharge; and it its hereby honorably discharged from the service
