Bellaire High School Swimming & Diving

June 1, 2000

Dear Swimmers and Divers,

Now’s the time to start thinking about next year’s swimming and diving season. Hopefully, you all will be working out in a summer league or a year round program so that you will be ready for fall workouts. Below is a checklist for you to complete before school starts:

    1. All forms need to be completed and turned in on August 16, 2000:
    2. a) A check in the amount of $25 made out to HISD for insurance or a completed waiver form signed at HISD athletics at 3830 Richmond.

      b) 2 copies of Parent’s approval (only first year participants need to have forms notarized).

      c) Physical in triplicate.

      d) Insurance information form.

      e) Acknowledgment of rules.

      f) Travel release form.

    3. Practice begins on Thursday August 17, 2000:

a) Practice begins promptly at 2:24 until 4:30 Monday – Thursday, 2:24

until 3:30 on Fridays.

    1. Practice is mandatory; USA swimmers who are enrolled in swim team must provide documentation that they are attending practice with their club team.
    2. USA swimmers who are enrolled in swim team, but who are not working out with the team will be required to stay in the pool area. They may study, lift weights, or run on the track. They may leave at the end of 7th period. They may not leave campus or sit in my office.
    1. Tryouts – two weeks into the season we will have time trials. Selection for the swim team will be based on ability, versatility, willingness to work, citizenship, and eligibility.

Bellaire swimming and diving is challenging and demands commitment. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me over the summer at home (713-667-9242 or e-mail me at [email protected])
