| The history of the Silencers has not been written in it's entirety. But a start can be made here... In the year 2004, a hero named WrathStar suddenly appeared above the skies of Paragon City. There was little known about him at the time. He wore black leather adorned with stars, seemed to hate the 5th Column, and stayed to the shadows quite a bit. A reporter for the Paragon Tattler attempted to look up his records in Paragon City Hall, but found them to be filed as "Missing". This was due to the fact that after several weeks following his registration with City Hall, his records were removed by a hero known as Red Seer, who had "moved" them under the command of his superiors to the secret hideout of the Dark Blade. The Dark Blade, a supergroup of Paragon, worked "covertly", and their newest recruit, WrathStar, showed much potential. WrathStar moved up the chain of command quickly, being awarded the rank of Leader in the Dark Blade in less than six months. However, he also became more of a public figure, and began to resent the fact that he was always relegated to the shadows of the night. He also began to feel that the tactics of some of his fellow Blade members were too violent, with unnecessary deaths involved. WrathStar, to this day, has never killed in the line of duty. He resigned the Blade, and he and his girlfriend Calypsto (now a superhero herself) registered the supergroup The Shadow Walkers with Paragon City Hall. Little is known of The Shadow Walkers to this day. Rumors abounded concerning a "coup de tat" of power against WrathStar and Calypsto by several upstart rouge villains who were disguised as heroes, who had managed to gain the trust of the group. There was even word that WrathStar himself had abandoned the life of a superhero, and went into seclusion. Regardless of what happened, the City Registry only lists The Shadow Walkers as "Disbanded". Several weeks later, THE SILENCERS emerged on the scene. WrathStar and Calypsto were back. Many recognized the core group immediately as those who had helped form the leadership of the Shadow Walkers, including heroes such as Warpaint, Icebot 3000, and Aerorand. It was apparent that the heart of the Shadow Walkers had banded together once again, only this time as a specialized "task force" to deal with the troubles of Paragon City. These five heroes fought evil together as a lone squadron for a short time, until the decision was made to open their ranks to heroes that they felt were worthy to join them. THE SILENCERS began a rigorous recruitment, only taking in those heroes they felt represented their ideals and upheld the laws of Paragon City. The Silencers currently have a roster of some twenty to thirty heroes, dispatched from around the globe to Paragon City. While they still remain one of the smaller supergroups, their names are becoming legendary and their group well-known. What the future holds, no one knows. |
