John Benjamin Franklin Sanford John was born 18 January 1845 he was the oldest son of Joseph Kearney Sanford and Martha Jane Lawler. He grew up in the Little Cove community. During the war he served under Capt. Gurley in Russell's 4th Alabama Cavalry. After the war he move to Lyon Mississippi. Here he married Kate Hobson , a widow. They had no children.
