John Belton Beam - Private - Company G Enlisted 8- 7- 1862 at Tuscaloosa Alabama. At the Battle of Missionary Ridge he was wounded and sent to the hospital at Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a result of these wounds he lost the use of his right arm and leg and hobbled around, with the use of a cane, the rest of his life. He drew a pension from the State of Alabama. James Madison Banks - 3rd Lt. - Company G. Born 1829 in Tuscaloosa County Alabama. James Enlisted in the Tuscloosa County Plowboys. While in camp at Tuscaloosa County, Alabama the Company came down with the measles and could not leave with their original outfit and was assigned to the last Unit to leave camp, the 38th Tennessee. The 38th served at Ft. Donelson,Shiloh, Chickamauga, and the Battle of Atlanta. James was killed 22 July 1864 at the Battle of Decatur Road Atlanta courtesy of grgrgr grand niece Carol Stone |
