Samuel died November 1879 in Blount County,
Alabama and is buried at Blountsville, Alabama.

Born 28 May 1840 in Elbert County, Georgia
John fought at the Battles of Richmond, Manasas,
Fredericksburg and Atlanta. He was wounded at
Fredericksburg but recovered from his wound and
returned to duty. Surrendered April 1865
He died 1 December 1935 at the age of 95.
