James Sanford Hubbard - Company K (Iuka Rifles) Born 8 December 1843 in Georgia and moved to Mississippi in 1844. On 2 March 1862 at the age of 19 James enlisted in Company K (Iuka Rifles) 2nd Mississippi Infantry. He was captured at Gettysburg; paroled at DeCamp General Hospital, Davids Island, New York Harbor. He was received at City Point Va. 8 September 1863 for prisoner exchange. James died 8:00 a.m. on Thursday 8 February 1923 at his home in Ouanah, Hardeman County Texas. courtesy of GrGr-granddaughter Mildred Aday |
