25th Alabama Infantry

Friendly L. Compton born 1816 in Sumter District, S.C. died May 1 1896 in Crenshaw County,Alabama. Enlisted as a Private  in Company B. along with four of his brothers, George W., James M., Jesse, and John Compton. Friendly was wounded at the battle of Shiloh in 1862 and was discharged at Big Springs Tenn Aug. 29, 1862.   Photo and information contributed by Ann Compton Robinson grgr-grandaughter
