( Twin Brothers ) Jefferson Newton Fox - Private - Company K. Born 21 January 1844 at Montevallo, Shelby County Alabama. Jefferson was wounded at Missionary Ridge, Tennessee 25 November 1863. his right leg had to be amputated just below the right knee as a result of his leg wound. He died 12 September 1925 and is buried at the First Methodist Church Cemetery at Plantersville, Alabama. George Washington Fox - Private - Company K. Born 21 January 1844 at Montevallo in Shelby County, Alabama. George first entered service 27 August 1861 in Blythe's Mississippi Battalion and transfered to the 24th Alabama in 1862. George was wounded in the right leg at Franklin Tennessee and in the back at Murphreesboro Tennessee an in the left thigh at Chickamauga. He was captured at Missionary Ridge and sent to prison at Rock Island, Illinois for the remainder of the war. George died 7 June 1920 place of burial unknown. courtesy of Shirley Waites |
