Robert was born 16 March 1844 in Goochland County, Virginia
He enlisted 5 March 1862 at Camp Winder for 12 months. His
occupation was listed as a Farmer at the time of his enlistment.
He was captured 1 July 1863 at Falling Waters and sent to Old
Capital Prison, Washington, D.C. On 8 August 1863 he was
transferred to Point Lookout Prison, Maryland. On 3 March
1864 he was paroled and exchanged.
Robert died 28 November 1912 in Louisa County, Virginia
and is buried in the Nicholas Family Cemetery on Route 611
in Lousia County, Virginia.
