Born February 1833 in Tennessee. He first enlisted
in the 26th Mississippi in 1862 and in 1864 the 26th
was merged to form the 11th Alabama Cavalry.
William was captured at the Battle od Decatur and
sent to Camp Chase Ohio where he remained until
the close of close of the war. He died October 1909
at Iuka, in Tishomongo County, Mississippi.
