Article IX
THE STANDING COMMITTEES
Sec. 1 The Standing Committees shall help facilitate the varied activities of
COGITO. These are as follows: Committee on Academic and
Research, Committee on Finance, Committee on Finance,
Committee on Publications and Committee on Outreach Programs.
Sec. 2 Duties and Functions of the Standing Committees:
2.1 The Committee on Academics and Research shall be the forefront
in maintaining the philosophical atmosphere by initiating activities
that will enhance academic excellence such as tutorial programs,
symposium, forum, and other philosophical discussion.
2.2 The Committee on Finance shall be responsible for the generation
and solicitation of Funds subject to the rules and regulations of
COGITO and upon the approval of the Office of Student Services;
draw up and propose fund raising projects of the organization.
2.3 The Committee on Publications shall release a monthly publication
of a newsletter for the organization; (the name of the newsletter
shall be agreed upon by the members of this particular committee
with the approval of the Execom); shall take charge of the
production of any written materials or posters concerning the
activities of COGITO.
2.4 The Committee on Outreach Programs shall draw a plan to
find way on how the organization could reach out to our less
fortunate nd less privilege brethren, e.g. for the street children
of Intramuros, or the Tala Missions, and other charitable
institution.
Sec. 3 Duties and Functions of the Committee heads:
3.1 Hold the overall responsibility of his committee.
3.2 Meet his members regularly to facilitate good working relation.
3.3 Represent the Committee to the meetings of the Standing
Committees to be called upon the Vice-President.
3.4 Head special projects of the organization as may be assigned to him
by the Execom.
3.5 Perform other duties assigned to him by the Execom.
3.6 Submit to the Vice-President and assessment/report of all the activities
undertaken.
Sec 4 Duties and Functions of the Committee members:
4.1 Shall perform the task assigned by the Head.
4.2 Shall make sure the Head of his committee are functioning, if not
he has the right to Report this to the Execom.
