| Article IV BASIC PRINCIPLES Cogito exists guided by the following basic principles: Sec. 1 Human Maturing. That as a person, the members experience God in their everyday lives through their love and service to God and to their fellow students; and promote moral integrity by enhancing a genuine fraternal spirit among themselves and by encouraging every member to observe good moral character. Sec. 2 Critical and Analytical Thinking. That as a philosopher, the members develop an independent rational thinking by promoting philosophical discussions which are relevant to present-day issues which will lead the members in grasping the nature of philosophy and in advancing intellectual responsibility for its personal growth and progress of organization. Sec. 3 Academic Excellence. That as a student, the members be directed towards being academically responsible, and aiming each member with critical awareness by expressing valid and sound arguments, by sharing pertinent ideas in classroom discussion, thus upholding the Colegio�s standard of excellence. Sec. 4 Membership in School and the Community. That the members as a group, contribute more to the growth of other student organization by cooperation and coordination with the highest recognized student body; and by their availability and support in institutional and community program and activities. Article V MEMBERSHIP Sec. 1 All Letran students majoring in Philosophy are automatically members of the organization. Sec. 2 Formal recognition of the new members and the first gathering of all the members for the new school year shall be done during the first General Assembly as may be decide upon by the Execom. Sec. 3 All members are entitled to enjoy the benefits and privileges as may be provided by the organization. Sec. 4 Classification of members 4.1 Cogitans. 4.2 Emeritus. Sec. 5 A member who has graduated AB Philosophy course, but has expressed his willingness to help the organization shall be called Emeritus, and shall be acknowledged by the organization. |
