VMEX (valve Map Extractor) is a .bsp to .vmf map decompiler for Half-Life 2 games (HL2, HL2DM, and CS:S).

It requires the Java Runtime Environment 5.0 (aka 1.5.0) which can be downloaded from this page:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
By following the "Download JRE" link.

To install the program, download and install the Java Runtime Environment 5.0. Then extract the vmexg.jar
and vmex_g.bat files into any folder (your HL2 maps folder, for ease of use).
To run the program, double click on the vmex_g.bat batch file.

This version includes a graphical user interface. Use the "browse" button to locate a compiled HL2 map file
(*.bsp file). Press the "Decompile" button to start decompilation. The options buttons can be used to alter
how the map is decompile, but in almost all cases the default options will be suitable.
