| Before everyone's favorite Swedes owned a gas station, they were all enrolled in a private school together. Their exploits on campus are the subject of Erwin C. Dietrich's Six Swedes on a Campus. If you've seen the Swedes working at the gas station or frollicking in the Alps, you probably have a pretty good idea of what to expect here. Most of the same cast would return the following year for Six Swedes at a Pump. |
| This is the Swedes first official outing together, and they even have a French compainion joining the group and narrating the story (with the subtle name of Marie-France). Marie-France is the lone brunette in a sea of blondes. Among those blondes are XXX favorites Brigitte Lahaie and Dany White. There really is very little plot here, just episodic erotic shorts linked together through the characters narration and some comedy. Surprisingly though, this film manages to be less repetative than the other films chronicalling the Swedish exploits (even though there isn't one main conflict to drive the story). The girls basically go around teaching nosey guys a lesson or two by sleeping with them. |
| With similar casts and often times nearly identical stories, these films can become difficult to tell apart. I mean, how many variations on a dildo bike can a Swedish girl named Kerstin build? The most confusion though, is likely to arise between this film and another titled Julchen und Jettchen - die verliebten Apothekerstochter. Both films feature close to the same cast and a very similar premise. Six Swedes on a Campus though, amazingly enough, has less of a story than the other. The biggest and most obvious difference though would be that they feature different teachers leading the class. JJ features the always popular Barbara Moose as Mademoiselle Blanche while Six Swedes has Diane Kelly (aka Anne Libert) as Miss Klein (Mademoiselle Stein in the french version. |
| Things get worse though. 1983's Six Swedes in the Alps features some stock footage from Julchen und Jettchen. This is troubling, The Alps had a different cast from Gas Pump or Campus, but the footage from Julchen und Jettchen features performers from both films. Just for added confusion, I'll throw in that one of my nominees for best body ever, Jane Baker, is in Gas Pump and Julchen und Jettchen, but not the other too. The bodybuilder guy that plays her husband in Julchen and Jettchen is only also in Campus. Suffice it to say, that this could become confusing and tiresome for all but the most seasoned Eurosleaze fan. I applaud the creators of the European Girls Adult Film Database for doing such an amazing and comprehensive job of cataloguing and cross referencing an absolute ton of movies with a tone of varying titles (how many movies are also part of the Come Play With Me series?). |
| I include the above mind boggling paragraph only to be sure we're talking about the same movie. I saw a review for this movie that refered entirely to Julchen und Jettchen! So I offer my sincerest thanks if you waded though that jungle to read my opinion on the film. So with as little further confusion as possible, I'll move on. |
| The closest thing we have to a plot is that one of the girls is a virgin, and is a little shy and unsure of herself. This doesn't stop the film from meandering off on unrelated story lines though. The girls do such wonderful things as teasing their musclebound gym teacher by stripping down to their birthday suites shen he's turned around. Of course, this guy teaches the girls a lesson by stripping himself and wowing the ladies with some bodybuilding poses. |
| My personal favorite moment in the film is when Greta (Brigitte Lahaie, of course) goes to an adult shop to buy some hardware for Kerstin. She purchases 12 dildos but feels like all the men in the store are watching her. She then goes on the imagine what the men are thinking, this is no doubt some pretty hot stuff. Lahaie always looks amazing, but particularly so here. She is truly a knockout! |
| In what proves to be a recurring theme in the Swede films, the mechanically inclined Kerstin modifies the girls' bicycles so that a dildo thrusts through the seat whenever they pedal. What would a 6 Swedes film be without some nude slow motion frolicking out of doors? Not a very good one, that's what! Here they do some nude running, and to top it off, nude leap frog! |
| Throw in a hunter, two of his buddies, a couple of goofy plumbers, and a studly fisherman (played by none other than the amazing Erik Falk) and you've got the recipe for a pretty damn good movie. Unfortunately for me, a review of this film functions almost like a checklist. There's not much to say about each scene individually. They're all effective at what they're trying to do. The film works wonderfully as a whole since most of the repetition that bogs similar films isn't here' It's worth mentioning that all of the girls are quite attractive, but Lahaie and Dany White (aka Daniel Troeger) stand out as exceptional. |
| The DVD is available as a region 0 PAL disc from ABCDVD. On the cover it states that it's 4:3, but the format appears to be 1.85:1 with an anamorphic transfer! This was a more than pleasant surprise. The other major bonus is that there is an english audio track, a feature missing from many of their earlier releases. This would definitely be one of the top recommended releases for those looking to jump into the world of the Six Swedes, and who wouldn't be? |
