Kiss Me Quick! (1964)

aka Dr. Breedlove
Dr. Breedlove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love
This is considered by many to be the best nudie cutie film ever made!  Although I don't consider this one to be my favorite, it is quite good.  It's also, unquestionably, one of the most important (along with Russ Meyers' The Immoral Mr. Teas) in that it is the first film produced by the legendary Harry Novak.
The nudie cutie era of the sexploitation film seemed so innocent when looked at in comparison to what was on the horizon in the 70s.  The films all had unbelievably dumb plots and the gags/jokes were just stupid beyond description.  Out of this though, came some extremely enjoyable films for people with a taste for them.  The film was designed to show off the naked female form.  It does so in a remarkably entertaining fashion considering the restrictions imposed on it.  The films had to remain fluffy, boobs and bun only; the nether-regions were strictly forbidden.  Kiss Me Quick! walks on this thin line very carefully, testing the boundaries but never crossing them.  The plot is also a sign of the times, no remotely sexual contact between men and women was allowed.  Therefore, we get a bafoonish alien who is guided on tour displaying female specimens engaging in various activities to show off what they've got.
Basically, that's the plot in a nutshell.  Actually, that is just about the entire plot!  Sterilox, an alien from the buttless galaxy (I told you the jokes were dumb), lands in Dr. Breedlove's lab in search of the perfect female specimen.  Fortunately for him, Breedlove has quite a collection of cuties on display!  From here we see girls dance naked, ride exercise bikes naked, and splash around in a wading pool naked among other things.  That's really it; this goes on for 66 minutes!
I have to say, I really enjoy this one.  The comedy is fast and upbeat, the gaggle of attractive topless girls is a treat, and the jokes are so stupid and pure that they never seem forced.  Not to mention, it was funny to see a movie where the opening credits are read aloud instead of imposed on the screen!  Also notable is the final shot in which Dr. Breedlove gets in a new shipment of girls kneeling down on a conveyer belt, which he labels by slapping stickers on their keisters reading grade A, prime, grade F etc. and finally one reading 'The End'.
As far as the overall release goes, this is definitely one of Something Weird Video's best releases.  They seem to know they have an important title on their hands and treat it with the great respect it deserves.  The films are digitally remastered, included are the trailers, four archival short subject featurettes, the standard gallery of exploitation art with radio spots, the Kiss Me Quick! girls in two other shorts (Hot Hot Skin and The Nude Watusi), another feature film (the great House on Bare Mountain), and most importantly - a feature length commentary from Harry Novak.  The commentary is entertaining as they discuss the political climate at the time, the storefront that they bought and turned into a studio, and occasionally - the movie itself!
This package is definitely worth picking up.  The additional feature, House on Bare Mountain, is also a ton of fun.  It's also notable to point out that cinematographer, Laszlo Kovacs went on to do a ton of big budget Hollywood work (Easy Rider, Ghostbusters, Miss Congeniality) after working on several sexploitation films.
I give this one 4 cute nudies out of 5!
