We met, it seems like a lifetime ago, but it has only been a little over a year. At least one of us was a "newbie" to this thing called the internet and we met at a Sony Station chat room. We were both disguised in the "Thirty Something" room with a few others with whom we still keep in contact. Then we were introduced to ICQ, oh Lordy, and we learned together how to maximize that little tool. We began exchanging "hellos" around September, 1997 and hardly a day has gone by that we don't have something to say to each other.
We discovered many similarities about each other. We have each been married the same number of years to wonderful, handsome men, we each have 2 boys and a girl, and we each have 3 grandchildren, 2 boys and 1 girl. When we first met, we each had a special need; one was facing a death in the family and the other was caring for a family member declining in health. The support we gave each other is now ledgendary. We like so many of the same things, it is almost frightening. It has been fun discovering these things and we have become very close friends, "soul sisters" even. Why even today, we discovered the "clincher". We each had orchid-lavender walls, purple floral bedspreads and purple rugs in the bedrooms of our first real homes. Each of our husbands said, "Enough, already".
A few weeks before Christmas, we discovered that each of us was going to be in Charlotte, NC at the same time for different reasons and there was no question that we would meet. We went to a Christmas Show/Bazaar and spent several hours shopping. We had a wonderful time and plan to return again next year.
Valentine's Day...what sweet memories of my Childhood days...Oh yes, I can vividly remember sitting at the Kitchen table with red and pink construction paper, scissors, paste and the most beautiful frilly pieces of white paper I ever saw...these were called doilies that Our Mother especially bought for us to use. I can still see My Little Brother, Harold and I making all of our Valentine Cards...then Mom would go over our lists very carefully making sure that we didn't leave anyone out.
