We have decided that since the Chief of Police of St Paul has assigned an officer to investigate this matter, the need for the continuation of the recall is no longer necessary. We started the recall of Sheriff Fletcher after finding that the County Attorney wouldn't investigate the matter nor forward it to anyone who would. It appeared that the only avenue open to us to get this before a court or investigated was to do a recall drive. Luckily as we stumbled about trying to determine how to go about this, Chief Finney's St Paul Police Department was handed the job. There has been some debate about if or how we should proceed. We have come to the conclusion that we have succeeded in our efforts. We are more than confident that the St Paul Police Department, under Chief Finney, will do a through investigation of this matter. Which is what we wanted all along someone to investigate this. We may or may not like their determination, but we will leave that up to them as we would have had to leave it up to the Supreme Court Chief Justice. We are encouraging people who have information that the St Paul Police Department may need to contact the Chiefs Office (292-3588) and ask for the investigator ( Commander Moorehead of the Western District Office ) and provide that information. Tips and leads are what the investigator needs now in order to do a through and complete investigation of the matter. No I have not talked to him myself. If you were at the event, know someone who was at the event, or have other information that the investigator may find useful please contact the Department (or the people you know who have information). Only if people come forward will there be a through investigation. On behalf of the people deeply involved with this we wish to thank those that came to our impromptu event a few weeks ago. We want to thank all those that have offered to help in our recall effort.
