A BRIEF STUDY OF GOD'S PLAN OF SALVATION. Without God, man is lost. Ephesians 2:12, "That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world." How does one get to God? The only way to get to God is through Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12, "Neither is there salvation in any other: For there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." We get to Christ by hearing the Word of God, as this is from where faith comes. Romans 10:17, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." After hearing the glorious gospel, we must believe, or have faith in what we have heard. This faith will build in us a confidence that can never be broken. Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Once we have this faith, or knowledge, we will want to make for ourselves a new life. Turning around from those things that are not pleasing to God and turning to Him.. Acts 17:30, "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent." Because Vs. 31, "He hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead." We must then be willing to confess the Savior before all men. Matthew 10:32, "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven." We must then be buried with Jesus in the waters of baptism. When we do this, we come into contact with the cleansing power of the blood of Christ. Our sins are washed away and God remembers them no more. Acts 22:16, "And now why tarriest thou? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." Doing this adds us to the Lord's church. Acts 2:47, "And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." We must then live the life that God would have us live, being faithful to his word. I John 1:7, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin." If we live the life of faithfulness, even if it means dying for our faith, we will be the recipients of the greatest reward. Revelation 2:10, "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." We hope this short study has been of benefit to you.
