Childs sings the best of American Popular Music. He captivates audiences with his
smooth renditions of Cole Porter, Gershwin, Mercer, Burt Bacharach, and
Rogers & Hart. Cody Childs is always accompanied by the best jazz musicians in the business. His combo ranges from a duo to a quintet. He can accommodate any venue, large or small. His quintet consists of a jazz pianist, a jazz guitarist, a bassist, sax, and a drummer. In small or intimate settings, Cody is accompanied by one or two instruments. Cody has appeared at such places as the Village Gate,
The Angry Squire, The Blue Note with Ted Curson on Trumpet, Symphony
Space, and Terrace on the Park. His Trio recently completed an
engagement at the La Guardia Crowne Plaza and has just completed a booking
at the
Brooklyn Marriot. He continues to perform at various venues including
the New York and Queens Public Libraries rendering tributes to
Jazz Greats such as Nat King Cole, Johnny Hartman, and Chet Baker. Cody
is currently presenting a musical tribute to the Soul legend Sam Cooke
at various libraries throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens. He will
soon be be appearing at the Countee Cullen Public Library on Saturday,
March 1st, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. He will be backed on vocals by his band,
The Ladies of Soul , which includes Hornrett Washington on Keyboards, Debra Robinson on Electric
Bass and Lisette Smith on Drums. Click
