He then crossed over to Liberty Championship wrestling and started officially training with his friend, Matt Scott. Names such as Alyx Winters, Wayne Adkins, Nick Hammonds, Tony Givens, and Josh Cody, just to name a few, started Cody out and helped him get ready to work.
For the better part of 2003, Cody continued to train and took an on-air announcing job with LCW. His last LCW announcing job was on March 6, 2004, at the HUGE March of Dimes show that included such names as NWA Champion Jeff Jarret, "Wildcat" Chris Harris, and "The Phenomonal A.J. Styles.
In the Summer of 2004, LCW merged with The Empire Wrestling Coallition (EWC). Cody announced a number of shows for EWC, and in November of 2004, he got his chance to lace up the boots. On that night, he fought a losing effort to ironically, Matt Scott, and continues to work with EWC.
Finally on May 28, 2005, Cody Ices was lucky enough to take part in an NWA: CW event in which then NWA World Champion, A.J. Styles was on the show. Cody was only in a $5000 dollar battle royal, but it cought the promotors there, and Cody is hoping to remain a staple in CW. He continues to wrestle for CW currently.
