throughout Europe and the United States have inspired many of her works.
Artistic
participation is essential to my existence. Without releasing my visions I
am an incomplete and frustrated human being. My artistic activity
began as a very young child and was matured and developed over the years.
An early commitment was made to my art and is now essential to my
existence in all aspects of my life.
While
studying art during her years of higher education, she found myself branching
into the world of architecture. She has found a shared passion
for both activities. Each one has fed the other in my artistic development.
Ms. Eckert founded an architectural firm in 1983 and has been the
recipient of numerous design awards. Her firm is currently working on the
design of the new $75 million Campus Center and
Academic/Administration Building for the New Jersey Institute of Technology
Campus in Newark.
Although
she has experienced many multi-media and forms of art expression, it has been
watercolor that has won her heart. She has found it to be
the most difficult of all mediums because of one's lack of control over its
liquid state, its challenging aura. Many years and practice have helped me
to master its medium as I made the transition to, at times, control it. Other
times, I wish to allow watercolor to lead me. This triggers other visions
that create places and things, which reach deeper into my subconscious.
I paint
in the form of "suggested realism" which allows my viewers to participate
with my painting. I take them on a path to special places but allow
the imagination and reconciliation of past experiences generates new places
to find.
Her painting,
titled "Orchid", was created as a vision and interpretation of the
flower through Ms. Eckert's analysis. The colors are not
representation of orchid colors, however the colors do emphasize the intensity
of the flower and drama of its unusual image. Colors that were
utilized are warm, powerful and dramatic. The image indicates lines different
from typical curvilinear repeat flower images. The painting received
the "1981 Garden State Water Color Society Award" and has been requisitioned
for many of her shows. In 1997 "Orchid" was placed into
production in China as a carpet design. Its execution has resulted in an extraordinary
representation of the initial work.
In 1994
Ms. Eckert, was invited to present her work, "New York City" at
the Modern Japan Watercolor Exhibition. From over four hundred
international entries, Ms. Eckert was presented with the "1994 Modern
Japan Watercolor Exhibition Second Place Award".
Her artistic
abilities have been valuable in the transfer of an aesthetic approach along
with the artistic knowledge needed to produce individual
and aesthetic interiors for her Clients. Her personal involvement with all
firm projects has created a reputation for individual attention, generating
a repeat Clientele that has been most generous in their recommendations of
this firm.
