I'M BACK!- January 26th, 2003
Hey all you "complete" fans! I'm back online! It's about time. A lot of stuff has happened between the last time I was online and now, and I will try to fill you in on some of the stuff that has gone down.
First of all, I won the GLCW Ontario Title from DWK. He's a great kid and a good (yet stiff) J worker. We had a great match and I eventually beat him with "Completely Finished." My next title defense is on February 22nd vs. "Showtime" Eric Young. Although I've been traveling and working with Showtime for the last 2 years, we have NEVER had a 1-on-1 contest. I'm really looking forward to this match as Showtime is one of, if not, the best worker in the province. Should be an interesting encounter.
Secondly, I became a new edition to the roster of the brand-spanking new indy fed, FIW. Not only that, I had my first 1-on-1 match with Derek Wylde for FIW and won the FIW Cruiserweight strap. We had an awesome match at the Appleby Mall and there will be much more great cruiserweight action coming out of FIW in the future. I'd like to get my hands on Wylde again if I could, but a crazed fan from Burlington has seemed to beat me to the PUNCH! ;) Anyways, FIW is also the one to thank for putting codysteele.cjb.net back online. They've been great to me and I can't thank Jimmy Van and FIW enough.
Thirdly, I've been involved in some now legendary matches for NSP. I had the fatal 4-way gimmick at "Crossroads" and had a lot of people tell me it was the best match they had ever seen. Considering some of the superfans out there that have seen MANY MANY matches, that is a HUGE compliment. I was very happy with the way the match turned out and even happier with the crowd's reaction. The next month I was in a 3-way dance with Derek Wylde and The Hacker for the NSP Independent Championship. Again, another great match (one that I am very proud of) and another night filled with ear-pounding chants from the loyal NEO fans. And then, just this past weekend, I was in a 6 man tag match with JT Playa and Showtime in my corner, vs. Derek Wylde, Tyson Dux and JC Owens. This match was full of crazy spots, including myself giving Derek Wylde a dragon suplex off the top rope and the "Pyramid from Hell/ Temple of Doom" suplex spot that brought the Polish Hall to their feet. It was another crazy night for NSP and another match that was a lot of fun. I've got a lot of response via email from fans about the fatal 4-way match and other matches at NSP, so I think I'll write a commentary about it specifically in the near future.
Now, I'm gonna take this time to let you know what's up with the new codysteele.cjb.net. First, I've basically lost all the work I've done on the old site that I'd worked hard on for the last 2 years or so. Including all my commentaries, and results. I'm not even gonna try to remember all the matches I've done in the past 2 years and redo my results so my results page will consist of the results from the present and forward. I am really upset about losing my commentaries, but there is nothing I can do about that. They might still be out there on a couple people's computers, so I might be able to get some of them back. But not likely. So, my commentaries, and my commentary archive will now begin from the present and into the future. This sucks, but there is nothing I can do about it. My old webmaster tried his damndest to help me out, but he was stuck between a rock and a hard place in the end, and I appreciate everything he did for me while doing my site.
So there's the website news, back to wrestling. My next show is on Feb. 7th for PWE. I am working Phil Latio. There is rumours floating around about the special stipulations for this match and although the rumours can't be confirmed, I don't like it one bit! I'm not gonna give it away, but damn, if the rumours are true... frick. nevermind. I then defend my GLCW Ontario title against Showtime (as mentioned above). Should be an awesome match. And then on March 1st it's back to Niagara Falls with NSP "Redemption." I currently don't know my role for the show, but if what I hear about the show is true, it gonna be another wild ride.
That's it for now. I know this commentary sucked, as it was just crappy info, and boring show pushing, but it had to be done as I haven't been around in way too long. Check back soon as I have A LOT of commentary ideas that are way better than this one.
"Completely" yours,
Cody Steele
