AIDAN DAVISON:Northern Irish keeper who is now the current Town keeper after re-joining the club in 03/04 from Bradford City. Aidan was the goalkeeper for Town from 1997 to 1999 in his first stint as Town keeper and played both of the historical games played by Grimsby at Wembley. In my eyes a lot better than Danny Coyne and Paul Crichton. JOHN MCDERMOTT:Little right back who joined the club 18 years ago. Macca holds the record number of apperences for Town and even for that must be in this team. A solid, loyal proud and gutsy player with bags and bags of experience. Currently the clubs captain. MARK LEVER:Tall commanding centre back who was another produce of Town`s youth squad. Lever enjoyed plenty of front line action for The Mariners and was a greatly talented defender. Mark left Grimsby in 2000 and joined Bristol City. He then moved onto Mansfield Town and then retired after a year with the Nottinghamshire outfit. GEORGES SANTOS: French/Cape Verde defender/midfielder who signed for 1 season the 2002/2003 season from Sheffield United on a free transfer. Georges started off in his regular central midfield position but later on him and Paul Groves switched positions. Georges was the only solid defender that season and his performances won him many man of the match awards and was voted by the fans as the player of the season for 02/03. A top class player who could shine in the Premiership if given the chance. Georges however snubbed Town to join Ipswich Town in pre-season. GRAHAM RODGER: Decent left back who spent just under 10 years with the club. Ending his career in 1999 with Mansfield Town like Mark Lever. Currently the clubs Assistant Manager to Paul Groves and at the moment is not impressing in this role as he was when he was a player. Still Grahams service to the club is commendable. JOHN OSTER: Played for the club 3 different times. Joined the club from the youth setup at the start of the 96/97 season and left for 1.5 million to Everton 12 months later. John returned to the club on loan twice in the 02/03 season and restored passion and pride into the club, and nearly steered the club to safety on his own, with only Georges Santos proving his worth aswell as John that year. John is now back at parent club Sunderland sand now a regular after years of reserve and loan out football. ALAN POUTON: Solid determined centre/right midfielder with bags of energy who burst onto the scene in 1999/2000 season after arriving on a free transfer from York City. It took Alan half a year to ease himself into the first team and when he did he became one of the best midfielders the club has ever seen. Still at the club but sadlt injury prone we hope the best of Alan Pouton is yet to come. DAVE BOYLEN::Little commanding midfielder who played at Blundell Park from 1964 to 1977 before moving to play in the United States for a short while. Dave is now in the Town legends bar and works in the local engineering business while still being involved with the club a great deal. STUART CAMPBELL: Clever left winger who can also play in the centre. Stu arrived from Leicester City in the 2000/2001 season intially on a 3 month loan which then changed to a 200,000 transfer. A goal happy midfielder who works a treat when Alan Pouton,John Oster and Michael Boulding are around him. JACK LESTER:Great home grown talent. Young Jack Lester joined Town in 1994 from the youth set up. Jack was never a prolific goalscorer but he created chances, won penalties and dazzled the fans. Super Jacky Lester is a true Town legend. Jack moved to Nottingham Forest away from Grimsby in the 99/00 season and then moved to Sheffield United at the start of the 03/04 season. CLIVE MENDONCA:Very famous Town player who was always the fans favourate at Blundell Park throughout his career. His boots were finally taken up by Jack Lester, though Clive has always kept in contact with Town since moving to Charlton Athletic. Sadly Clive retired last season due to injury, however he is still one of the most noticable Town legends there is.
