The giant Danish goalkeeper Morton Hyldgaard joined Grimsby on loan from Coventry for 2 months at the end of the 2000/2001 season. Morton never played a first team match but made the subs bench in every game for 2 months. Morton also spent time on loan at local rivals Scunthorpe and peformed well there, but he is now back at Coventry as there 3rd choice keeper.
Jason Batty

The New Zealand International 1st choice keeper Jason Batty signed for 2 months on loan from New Zealand club Kingz FC. Jason made the bench once at home to Carlisle in the League Cup. He then joined Scunthorpe on loan before Kingz FC released him to Confrence newcomers Stalybridge.
Jack Lester

Super Jacky Lester joined Grimsby from the youths in the 1993/1994 season and soon was put into regualr first team action. Jacks pace and shotting skills made him a pretty famous site in the English First Divsion. Jack joined Nottingham Forest for �200,000 midway through the 1999/2000 season when his contract ran out. Former Forest boss David Platt mentioned that his main reason for signing Lester was the ease that Lester forced his way through the Forest defence in Towns 4-3 win at Blundell Park. Another Town great who is truly missed.
Ian Hamilton

Ian joined Grimsby on loan for a month from Sheffield Utd in the 1999/2000 season. Ian was mainly on the bench in his short period at the club. He scored Towns goal in the miserable defeat at Stockport in the 99/00 season. Ian like many Town rejects joined former boss Alan Buckley at Lincoln City, he joined them when Notts County released him on a free transfer.
Mark Lever

Mark joined Grimsby back in 1989 from the youth team and stayed with Grimsby until the end of the 1999/2000 season when he joined Divsion 2 rejects Bristol City on a free transfer when his contract ran out. Mark is a superb defender. some fans cannot tell the difference between him and a brick wall. Mark is another truly missed legend, he was linked with a move back to Grimsby when Bristol City had rumoured to have released him on a free transfer, well how come Mark scored for City 2 days after he was suposed to have left the club.
Andy Love

Andrew Love joined Grimsby from the youths midway through the 1995/1996 season. Andy enjoyed no more than 10 apperances over a number of years. Andy was released on a free transfer when he was sent to prisson. He came back out of prssion a few months later and joined Dr Martens Premiership side Ilkeston Town with other Town reject Matty McKenzie.
