Pretty and delicate, that was Thekchen Thomkay [pronounced Tek' chen Tom' kay]. Devoted to her young, mysterious Japanese boy, she pledged her heart to him, and Kisho Fujimiya willingly accepted. The two were soon engaged, and Kisho swore he'd take Thekchen away from the horrors of Tibet.

Weeks sped by, cloaked in a whirlwind of tender, teenaged passion. She assisted her love is seeking out his father, risking all to further the search. And every night, he made his promises to her anew... he would take her away from the fear and the oppression that gripped her country...

But their questions, regardless of how innocent, stirred paranoia in a country already rife with it. Believed to be an enemy spy, Kisho was arrested for treason, and Thekchen was incarcerated with him. Sent to Drapchi Prison, the worst of the judiciary terrors Tibet could claim, Kisho was tortured for days on end, and threatened with his fiancee's life. There was nothing the young assassin could give them, however, this time truly only in Tibet for the reasons he continually gave... to find the father he had never known.

Their patience worn thin, his jailers turned their attention to Thekchen, torturing... and finally executing... her right before Kisho's very eyes, and all to no avail. Still, he could give them nothing they wanted to hear. His fiancee dead, his own spirit all but broken, they returned him to his agency as good as dead, himself.

After more than a month of agony and terror, the young lovers were never thought of, again...
