Hi there,
My name is Hawk. I am a Fire Captain and EMT with the Valley Ford Volunteer Fire Department, in Northern California.
The events of September 11th, 2001 have affected everyone in our country. As a firefighter, I understand the sacrifice that the firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement officers made. They went into the World Trade Center Towers to rescue people, to do the job they loved. They didn't know who they might be rescuing, they just went to do their job to the best of their abilities. This is the same thing that the Public Safety Industry does all over the country, every day. We go into situations that others want to get out of, to help others get out, to save lives, to save property. To work through my feelings in the aftermath of the attack, I have turned to another love of mine, drawing. I have been working on the drawing above since shortly after the attack. Now that it is finished I feel that I can make it a better tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice by offering it for sale. I have prints of it available for $10.00 unsigned, signed for $15.00. All of the proceeds from the sale of these prints will be sent to the FDNY 9-11 Widows and Orphans Fund. I am also considering having t-shirts made. Please let me know if you are interested. Also let me know if you are interested in including my print in any websites you are building.
I have been a firefighter since 1995 with CDF. I joined the Valley Ford Volunteer Fire Department in 1998. I have also worked with a private ambulance company as an Emergency Medical Technician. I became an EMT in 1997, after attending the training program offered at the Santa Rosa Junior College. I obtained my Firefighter I Certificate in 2001 after completing the Firefighter Academy at the SRJC. I graduated as Class Leader. I now work as an Evaluator for the Fire Academy.
