OK, so if you are new to the Digital World, here's a basic lowdown on Digimon!!!
DIGIMON!
At each level, a Digimon can learn various new attacks, which get more powerful as the digimon Digivolves to a higher stage.
DIGIDESTINED

Digimon are creatures that live in a digital world. Digimon is the shortened name for Digital monsters, which is what they are.Computer generated information.
So these Digimon have various levels of power. They start off as Baby Digimon and they can "Digi-volve" into bigger, more powerful Digimon at certain times. Here is the Digipower List, starting with the smallest and least powerful form, and working up to the highest and most powerful evolution.
Baby/In-Training
Rookie
Champion
Ultimate
Mega.
Digimon don't just Digivolve, they can also Armor Digivolve.
Armor Digivolving can be done at anytime as long as the Digimon is in it's rookie form. To Armor Digivolve, they must have a DigiEgg.
A DigiEgg contains powers that allows the Digimon to get to a new level. Only certain Digimon can use certain DigiEggs.
The DigiDestined are people chosen to protect the Digital World whenever it is in danger. There have been two sets of DigiDestined (to see who they were, check the charecter Bios!) who were chosen.
Each DigiDestimed has one or more Crests. Each crest represents the person which it belongs to (see the Crests section) and helps focus their power.
Each Digidestined also has a Digivice. When held up to a computer screen it can transport it's holder to and from the digital world.
Each DigiDestined has their own Digimon who protects them and fights for them. With the help of their DigiDestined, these Digimon can digivolve. They can only do this with the help of their DigiDestined because they need to share energy with them. Complicated huh?
