Where  do you go from here?
Above is a picture of Lacona when I visited it in the late 60's on one of my escapes to Panama. All that was left to monument the passing of families that had called Lacona their home were concrete slabs and post of the 12 family tropical housing, which was once a great part of our lives. The jungle was moving in and by and by there would be nothing to show that once this was a bustling community of 300 families living on the edge of the jungle surrounding San Juan Hill on Rodman Naval Station.
So, where do we go from here? That is a good question. Can anybody really go home? Maybe it is like some people:

Some people come into our lives and quickly go,
Some people move our souls to dance.
They awaken us to new understanding with the passing of their wisdom.
Some people make the sky more beautiful, leave footprints on our
heart and we are never , ever the same. --- Unknown
Here are a few final thoughts:

Make the best use of what is in your power and take the rest as it happens
---- Epictetus

You are beaten to earth... Well, well, what is that?
It is nothing against you to fall down flat,
but to lie there... now that is a disgrace. --- Mike Ditka

"... and the sea will grant each man new hope, as sleep brings dreams of home."
--- Admiral of the Seas, Christopher Columbus

Coffee
O' boiling, bubbling, berry bean!
Thou consort of the kitchen queen-
Browned and ground of every feature,
The only aromatic creature,
For which we long, for which we feel,
The breath of morn, the perfumed meal.
--- Arthur Gray (1902) from "Over the black Coffee"

Hard is the journey,
Hard is the journey,
So many turnings,
And now where am I?
--- Li Po (AD 701-62)
This WWII Poster is entitled "Home Coming" by the late world famous illustrator... Norman Rockwell. It kind of says it all and it is a real favorite of mine.
