Puppies, cute and friendly but hard work. Always remember when wanting to buy one to make sure it is from a good breeder, or if your very kind hearted a shelter. If you buy from a breeder you dont want the history of their dogs to be snappy and vicious you want them to be friendly and lovable.

You should buy dog training books and give the dog a 100%. Teach it tricks at a young age and reward it with treats, don't expect it to learn immediatly. Be patient.
As they toilet train never shove their nose in thier waste when they do it indoors as they will presume its wrong to do the toilet at all. Just get them to learn how to do it outside.
As they get older, take them for lots of walks, if not they get bored and may get overexcited.
Male dogs naturally get a bit excited with certain objects such as legs. This is natural. Stop him doing it but don't punish him. Keep him away from female dogs unless he is fixed.
It is normal for young dogs to chew things as they are teething so if they bite at you this is why.
To punish a dog a tap on the nose is a sensitive area or the stomach.
Remeber love your pet. A good cuddle now and then dosn't do any harm. |
