Here are some pictures of the cage I bought for my Quasi after I bought my fathers. I set it up a little different than a normal tiel cage to see if Quasi will adapt. So far so good. I just hope with time he will become brave enough to use the perches. :)
The orange on the perches is a special non-slip bandage that helps Quasi keep his footing. I will have to get some more from the vet at his next visit to cover the rest of his perches and it is always good to have some spare, just in case he does his buisness on it. :)
If you look real good here you can see Quasi is standing on one leg using his better foot to hold on and his really bad foot to keep his balance by puting it on the cuddle bone. Smart Bird!!
Quasi loves his sprey millet. I used it to coax him up the perch.
Quasi hasn't realized he can get off of that perch and get on the perch infront of the door yet.
This is what Quasi's cage looks like inside. I want to get a couple more toys to hand on the sides. The swing is actually imobile. I don't think he would actually use it if it would swing so it is set up against the cage so it wont move and he has a lower perch.
mmmmmmmm, I love my millet!!
Hey, what you looking at?! Get your own!
This is what Quasi looks like when I say "Who's a pretty birdie? "
This is where I started Quasi on the perch and moved his spey millet up slowly to the top, he loves it so much he followed it without realizing he was rising.
This is Quasi's favorite place. He loves perching on this swing. As long as it isn't swinging. Do you think maybe he feels like a normal tiel cuz he's on a swing? lol. He got attached to it in his previous cage and actually started sleeping on it at night so I couldn't take it away. I worked up a way to hand it low enough for him to get up and perch. He still uses it to sleep at night. :)
