Downloading our Files.
[For Idiots]
HOW TO DOWNLOAD
- For the best possible results, right click on the file link that you wish to download, and Click "Save Target As..." if you are using AOL or Microsoft Internet Explorer, or "Save Link As..." if you are using Netscape.

-You will then get a download box with the message: Getting file information, and then another box will appear. Choose the appropriate directory (place on your computer) and click save.

Note: Our files are sometimes down. Lately, as holtzmaniac shut down, pretty much all of our movies are broken links, and we are working on finding new servers for them. If you download a file, and when you click save target as, the file is a .HTML document, that probably means that the link is broken. You are not doing anything wrong, it just means that the file is down.

WHAT IS HIGH AND LOW BANDWIDTH?
- This refers to your connection speed. There are usually two different files to be downloaded, one "high bandwidth" and one "low bandwidth".

-High bandwidth files are better quality, but they are also larger in file size. These files are designed for viewers with fast connections- Cable modems, DSL, T1 lines, etc.

-Low bandwidth files are lower quality, but they are designed economically and take up less space on your hard drive. These files are designed for viewers with dial-up connections- 28.8, 56k modems, etc.

MEDIUMS
- Our videos and sounds are available for download in many different file types.

-MPG files, the format used for most of our movies, can be played with Windows Media Player, which comes standard with all windows computers. You will probably not need to download anything to view these files.

-MP3 files, the format used for most of our sound files, can be played with newer versions of windows media player as well. This means that if you bought your computer within the last 2 years, your windows media player can probably play the MP3 files. If you have an older version which will not play or is not compatible with this type of encoding, CiM recommends
Winamp. which is a good program that won't take long to download that will play MP3s.

-Real Video is a well compressed medium that we have been using to create smaller files while still maintaining the quality of our films. To play Real Video and other Real Media, you will need to download the Real Player, available at
http://www.real.com. It is very common, and is worth the short download time.

VIEWING YOUR FILE
- After you download, you will want to view your file. To do this, go to the directory that you placed the file in when you clicked save target as.

-If you are unable to locate the file, try using the "find" feature on your computer, entering the filename into the "search for" field. If this does not work, try inputting " *.mpg " or " *.mp3 " or " *.rm" . This will return all files with these extensions.
