Ceiling |
On November 11 we started working on the ceiling. 1"x6" rough-cut lumber was nailed directly to the rafter beams. The end of the boards was cut flush to the cob wall. (The cob walls will eventually be built-up higher to serve as parapets.)An 18"x18" clearance was created for stovepipe heat shield. We completed the ceiling in the morning on Nov 12. There were forcasts for snow (2-6inches). In an attempt to protect the newly installed ceiling we stapled asphalt roofing paper to the boards. It started snowing as forcasted in the early afternoon.
